DassaultSystemes has unveiled SolidWorksPlastics software that enables users to predict and avoid manufacturing defects during the earliest stages of plastics part and injection mold design. SolidWorks Plastics will be offered in two packages - SolidWorks Plastics Professional for part designers, and SolidWorks Plastics Premium for mold designers and mold makers. The SolidWorks Plastics products are based on technology from SIMPOE SAS (SIMPOE) its Gold Partner.
“Asia is the world’s largest consumer of plastics with per capita consumption of plastic products in India moving towards 2.5 times the GDP growth. The expanding customer base has increased the demand for innovative designing solutions for the plastic industry to meet the requirements of the sector. The addition of SolidWorks Plastics in our product portfolio is aimed at expanding our product line into new areas while following the traditional SolidWorks focus on ease-of-use and features that provide real-time benefit to customers,” said Manoj Mehta, Country Manager, India & SAARC, SolidWorks.
“Extending our relationship with DassaultSystemes via the SolidWorks brand allows us to leverage their highly-skilled reseller channel and offer a high-quality, cost-effective solution to help part and mold designers reduce errors, cut costs and speed time to market. This seamless integration of solutions means a designer never has to leave the familiar SolidWorks environment to optimize their part and mold designs,” said Alain DuBois, President & CEO, SIMPOE.
