Syntel Chairman talks at U.S. Corporate Conclave

Syntel has reported that its Chairman and Co-Founder Bharat Desai spoke at the IIT Bombay - Washington University Corporate Leaders Conclave on October 19 & 20, 2013 in St. Louis. This tow-day event was held to focus on strengthening the US-India connection, creating innovation and educational opportunities, and developing solutions to global economic and humanitarian issues.

At the event, Desai participated with other business leaders in a panel discussion focussed on entrepreneurship and innovation, moderated by Washington University Executive Vice- Chancellor, Hank Webber.

Bharat Desai stated, "Business and academia both have important roles to play in creating new economic opportunities. We live in a globally connected world, and partnerships like the IIT Bombay - Washington University corporate alliance provide students with a solid foundation in the realities of a global business environment, giving them a competitive edge as they enter tomorrow's workplace."

"In addition, this alliance enables established entrepreneurs to connect, engage and nurture the next generation of business leaders," added Desai.

Syntel's support for the IIT Bombay - Washington University initiative is part of the Company's overall commitment to supporting socially-conscious educational initiatives, including its own corporate social responsibility vehicle, S'Prayas, as well as Enactus, a global non-profit that challenges college students to develop and execute socially responsible entrepreneurship in their communities.
