Tablets are definitely the latest rage in technology world. Keeping this in mind, the chip maker is planning to introduce chips for tablets. As per the latest report, Intel based tablets from major brands will hit the stores in June. It will provide mileage to the chipmaker to move closer to its sales goal.
Market experts believed that the PC industry is declining and Intel is targeting mobile devices and other new markets. Most tablets are made with chips from Samsung, Qualcomm and other companies that use low-power technology from ARM Holdings.
Recently, Intel announced a deal with Chinese chipmaker Rockchip to make components for entry-level Android devices aimed at local consumers in China.
Intel sold around 10 million tablet chips last year. Toshiba has announced six tablets and PCs with detachable screens made with Intel chips, one of which runs the Android operating system and the rest Windows.
