Videocon Mobile gears up to expand its reach in India

Videocon Mobility is aiming to expand its reach further in India by covering the entire country within two-three years.

Presently, Videocon Mobile Services is operating only in seven of the 22 telecom circles. The seven circles include MP-CG, Punjab, Haryana, UP-East, UP-West, Gujarat and Bihar circles.

Arvind Bali, Director & CEO, Videocon Mobile Services, said, "The company is a national player in the telecom sector and has ambition to start services across the country in two to three years. Videocon's current subscriber base stands at seven lakh in the MP-CG circle and it is adding 1-1.5 lakh customers every month to its fold.”

Arvind further added, “In order to offer network experience in the Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh (MP-CG) circle, the company is mulling to add 1,550 cell sites to its existing 2,800-plus sites within the next two months.”

Besides this, the company is also intending to roll out 4G services in India to provide the next level of mobile communications. For this, it had already prepared a roadmap and commenced network planning. According to an estimate, Videocon is seeking commercial rollout of 4G services by March 2014.
