Visa has appointed Rishi Chhabra as its new Country Manager for India, where he will be responsible for overseeing the company’s operations, strategic initiatives, and client relationships throughout the country. In his new role, Rishi will report to Sandeep Ghosh, Group Country Manager for India and South Asia, which includes Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Bhutan.
Rishi, who joined Visa in 2023 as Vice President and Head of Merchant Services & Acquiring for India and South Asia, brings more than 20 years of experience in the financial services and payments sector. Before joining Visa, he was the Country Head for Fiserv in India and Sri Lanka and has held key leadership roles at First Data Corp, PayPal, JP Morgan, and ABN AMRO.
Reflecting on his new role, Rishi Chhabra said, “I am excited to lead Visa’s efforts in India and contribute to the company’s mission of empowering financial inclusion, particularly for small and medium enterprises. We will continue to leverage Visa’s trusted brand to drive innovation and secure digital payments.”
Sandeep Ghosh, Visa’s Group Country Manager for India and South Asia, also praised Rishi’s appointment, saying, “Rishi’s leadership and experience will further strengthen Visa’s presence and commitment to the Indian digital payments ecosystem.”
Rishi holds a Master’s in Industrial Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mumbai.
