According to the report published by Analytics firm NetMarketShare, there has been rise in the market share of Windows XP among desktop operating systems for the second month in a row in February, with 29.53 percent market share.
This seems interesting when Microsoft is all set to end support on 8 April for the thirteen-year-old operating system. The company has been asking users to upgrade to Windows 8 and 8.1 to avoid the array of security issues which will be accompanied by the end of support for XP.
According to NetMarketShare, while Windows 7 is the current most popular desktop Operating System, with a market share of almost 47.31 percent of half of the OS market, the market share of Windows 8 and 8.1 rose to 10.68 percent, at 6.38 and 4.30 percent respectively.
Windows Vista, which was launched in 2006, continued to decline from 3.3 percent to 3.1 percent.
