Added Bhatnagar, “The key roadblocks to the adoption of color are high running cost and total cost of ownership (TCO) of the product. Over the next three months, we will be rolling out 6 city road shows on educating enterprises and SMBs on the TCO of our offering and help them migrate to color.”  The newly-launched products include: Xerox WorkCentre 7232 (A3 MFD, 10 ppm Color & 30 ppm B&W), Xerox WorkCentre 7328 (A3 multifunctional device, 26 ppm for color and 28 ppm for B&W), Xerox WorkCentre 7655 (A3 color MFP, 40 ppm color 55 B&W), Xerox Phaser 6180 MFP (20 ppm color printing) and Xerox Phaser 8860 (30 ppm color printer) based on environment-friendly Solid Ink technology). The price of the newly- launched products ranges between Rs.1,80,000 and Rs.10,00,000/-. Xerox’s Newly-Launched Speciality Imaging Solutions Correlation Marks: Correlation Marks provide a unique and simple method to protect and track documents. Based on digital screening technology, Correlation Marks take advantage of spatial correlations in halftone screens to create a self-authenticating, secure document containing an invisible, hidden image. With the help of Correlation Marks technology, the user can hide an invisible image during the printing process with no alteration to the original image. And because the hidden mark is inserted during the printing process, each copy of a document can have a unique hidden image. This technology provides an extra level of authentication for documents such as lottery tickets, invitations and other documents requiring an authenticity check. This technology is compatible with colour, monochrome, and highlights colour Xerox Digital equipments. Glossmark: Xerox Glossmark technology is a “watermarking” technology that exhibits a special visual effect by creating different levels of gloss within an image. The Glossmark is an image or pattern embedded in an existing image without the need for special toners or paper. Similar to traditional watermarks, embedded Glossmark can be easily observed without the assistance of special devices, yet cannot be deleted or reproduced by conventional scanning or copying. Xerox’s Glossmark technology provides added security features to documents at print time. It helps tackle counterfeiting and fraud by embedding a hologram-like image onto the surface of the printout. This creates a tamper-proof document and guarantees its authenticity. The Glossmark is visible to the eye, but cannot be reproduced on a copy of the original. FluorescentMark:
Princy Bhatnagar, Director, Office Business Group, Xerox India Ltd., said, “Color is still at an adoption stage in the Indian market. However, in today’s competitive scenario enterprises are fast realizing the importance of color in office as it helps to make an immediate impression and breaks through the clutter. With color becoming more affordable with our Solid Ink technology, we are confident to grow the color usage in the office segment and open up new opportunities in segments like R&D, advertising agencies and fashion houses. With this launch, Xerox will be a formidable player in the A4 color segment while continuing to lead the A3 category.”
Xerox’s Fraud-Resistant Speciality Imaging SolutionsÂ
Protecting sensitive documents from unauthorized duplication is a growing concern in our business environment. Counterfeit copies of documents such as bills, tickets, invoices, etc. can have serious financial impacts. Keeping this in mind, Xerox India has introduced a suite of fraud-resistant speciality imaging solutions for static and variable job digital printing. These fraud-resistant speciality imaging solutions from Xerox are developed to add an extra level of security and authentication to protect sensitive documents from unauthorized duplication. These speciality imaging text effects can only be printed with a Free Flow digital front end in combination with Free Flow software – any other print server will print them as normal text.
MicroText:Â The MicroText Speciality Imaging Font, a 1/100th of an inch, is readable only with a loupe or magnifying glass. This has been designed to provide additional security to help make valuable documents such as personal information like birth certificates, personal identification papers, credit cards and checks, etc. even harder to forge. This MicroText innovation from Xerox is compatible with colour, monochrome, and highlights colour digital equipment presses.
Printed text that is only visible under UV/black-light that enables to protect sensitive documents like concert tickets, admission passes, and retail promotions. FluorescentMark is compatible with only Xerox Digital colour equipments.Â
InfraredMark Speciality Imaging Font: Is only visible in the dark, with an infrared camera. It does not require special ink, but is printed with ordinary toner, the “dry ink” that forms xerographic images. It can be produced on standard Xerox digital systems using standard papers. In addition, if the document is copied or altered, the infrared text will become substantially distorted under infrared light and therefore illegible. InfraredMark technology complements existing Xerox speciality imaging effects, such as MicroText marks and Glossmark text, which provide a cost-effective way to make documents more secure. The InfraredMark technology protects sensitive documents like admission passes and promotions. This innovation from Xerox is compatible with Xerox Color Digital Equipments.
