Tata Communications, a global communications technology leader, has successfully enabled the pan-India launch of Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) eSIM services, ushering in a new era of seamless, secure, and future-ready mobile connectivity for millions of Indian subscribers.
The service is powered by the GSMA-accredited Tata Communications MOVE™ eSIM Subscription Management platform, delivered by Tata Communications Collaboration Services Private Ltd. (TCCSPL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Communications Ltd. The platform ensures scalable, secure provisioning of eSIM profiles across BSNL’s nationwide customer base.
This marks a significant step toward next-generation mobile services in India. BSNL’s eSIM offering enhances customer convenience by enabling remote provisioning of 2G/3G/4G services through secure QR codes—eliminating the need for physical SIM cards. The service also supports dual-SIM functionality, allowing users to combine an eSIM with a physical SIM, making international travel and cross-network connectivity easier and safer.
Commenting on the partnership, A.S. Lakshminarayanan, MD & CEO of Tata Communications, said: “We are honoured to partner with BSNL in delivering secure and scalable eSIM services that empower citizens and strengthen India’s digital infrastructure.”
A. Robert Ravi, Chairman & MD of BSNL, added: “The nationwide rollout of eSIM represents a strategic leap in India’s telecom capabilities. Backed by Tata Communications’ expertise, we are advancing flexibility, efficiency, and security in mobile services for citizens.”
The launch aligns with the Government of India’s Digital India vision, with scope to extend beyond consumers into enterprise use cases such as IoT connectivity and digital transformation initiatives.
By combining its trusted global expertise with BSNL’s expansive reach, Tata Communications is reinforcing its role as a key enabler of India’s secure and connected future.
