Our industry thrives on new thinking, on fresh ideas. It is what helps to drive the networks forward on how the technology something that could prove vital for the network. Keeping this in mind, ADVA has developed a new technology on a test bed that showcases automated end-to-end data center provisioning using Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and OpenFlow.

Stephan Rettenberger, Vice-President - Marketing, ADVA Optical Networking, stated, "For the first time, we are able to show how to extend virtualization beyond the walls of the data center to the actual physical network. What is more, we can do this with a simple SDN application that can dynamically provision, monitor and manage optical circuits between geographically diverse data centers. The potential here is enormous."
