Autodesk has announced that it has launched a new version of Autodesk BIM 360 Glue which will be a cloud-based Building Information Modelling (BIM) solution. It is a management software solution that is aimed to extend the BIM process from design to the construction stage by providing access to project information for model coordination and clash detection to all project stakeholders via desktop, mobile and web.
Amar Hanspal, Senior Vice-President of Information Modeling Products, Autodesk, said, “BIM is transforming the AEC industry. This happened first in architecture and more recently in construction. Autodesk’s cloud and mobile technologies are untethering BIM from the desktop, allowing extended project teams to more effectively collaborate and coordinate projects with greater speed and power.”
With BIM 360 Glue, enhanced cloud-based collaboration and mobile access helps ensure that the entire project team can participate in the coordination process, minimizing the coordination cycles and providing teams with tools to view the designs wherever they are located.
The new release will provide a redesigned and optimized user interface as well as support for larger project models, and improved coordination with Autodesk Revit Architecture, Autodesk AutoCAD, and Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D. With BIM 360 Glue, users will be able to move more seamlessly between Autodesk Navisworks software products. The updated BIM 360 Glue mobile app will also provide anti-aliasing and support for Navisworks software product models to deliver virtually “anywhere access” to critical project data.
