Nokia addresses Indian Customers with Improved Version of Nokia Messaging

Nokia has launched a newer, improved version of Nokia Messaging with free push email service on all compatible Nokia Symbian devices, exclusively for consumers in India. Further, as part of the Nokia Messaging Service (NMS) portfolio, Nokia will also offer free Instant Messaging (IM) services, preloaded on select devices.  The company has also unveiled the Nokia C3, Nokia C6 and Nokia E5, its new range of QWERTY devices to make email, chat and QWERTY devices available at affordable prices to more consumers in the country.

Nokia’s vision is to make messaging services available and affordable for all segments of consumers, and not just a privileged few. People want the best messaging experience on an affordable device, whether it is sending a simple text or instant message or an email, Nokia offers a powerful range of devices that deliver a seamless messaging experience at different price points,” said D. Shivakumar, Managing Director and Vice-President, Nokia India.

Nokia Messaging is a push email UI that aggregates all multiple consumer email accounts through one client. It can support and mobilize up to 10 email accounts such as Gmail, Yahoo, Rediffmail, Sify and Indiatimes, amongst others. Nokia’s Instant Messaging Service enables users to mobilize all of the popular chat clients like Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger or Google Talk straight on the Nokia device.

Nokia has also unveiled three new handsets to bring mobile messaging and social networking into the hands of more people at affordable prices – Nokia C3, C6 and E5.

The Nokia C3 has been built with social networking in mind as it is the first Series 40 phone with a full QWERTY keyboard, providing this feature at very affordable price points.  The Nokia C3 comes with Nokia Messaging, Ovi Mail and Ovi Chat, meaning first time users can set up email and chat accounts straight from the device, without the need for a PC. The Nokia C6 is a Symbian-based smartphone combining the benefits of a 3.2-inch touch screen with a full slide out QWERTY keyboard. It has impressive features including a high quality five mega pixel camera with autofocus and flash and Ovi Maps with free lifetime navigation.

The Nokia E5 brings together high quality business features and entertainment capabilities. Perfect for managing busy schedules, the Nokia E5 combines a full QWERTY keyboard and multiple work and personal email accounts. Additionally, it comes with Ovi maps and free navigation amongst other interesting features.
