So far, so good and even better was the fourth edition of the Confed Summit 2011 which was held in Kollam (Quilon), Kerala on 26th & 27th February, 2011. The Summit was organized by the Confederation of IT Associations (Confed-ITA) where more than 1,000 proven dealers from 22 associations from across Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Kerala were part of the annual event. The theme for the Summit was "Change to Grow". The new office-bearers took charge during the Confed-ITA Summit. They will take over their responsibilities effective April 2011 to 2012.

While explaining the theme of the event, Rtn. Muthuswamy A, President, Confed-ITA - 2011-2012 and Chairman, Confed Summit 2011, said, "Changes are inevitable, changes are natural, not something to be afraid of, as nothing remains static. All changes may not result in growth, but the Changes that lead to Growth are to be identified and pursued. Positive changes lead to Positive Growth."

“In Confed IT, more than 20 associations come together, which means you can address the entire spectrum of partners here under this single umbrella. One of our key concerns is passing on the business message properly to the partners. For that, we conduct various programmes in several districts. The best part of Confed IT is that you can pass on the message to a huge number of partners under one roof. I especially find this event beneficial because it is a common platform to share messages, create awareness about the product and also partners can approach us for the queries which they may have.”

“Being the legal officer of Microsoft, I am responsible for checking the channel pulse with respect to Microsoft products. I have been with the Confed IT since its inception and in the capacity of Legal Officer of Microsoft, I will keep investing in it. To check the soaring rate of piracy, I conducted a survey in five or six permanent markets of Tamil Nadu in the months of October and November and examined 58 outlets. And shockingly, out of the 58 outlets, owners of 52 outlets have said yes to piracy. I need your help and support in eliminating piracy. I know piracy is something that will not move out of the market soon. I would like to know what can be done to curb this, because this is an issue which calls for self-consciousness and each one of us should make conscious efforts to avoid indulging in piracy.”

Growth comes from knowledge. And it is with in-depth knowledge that Epson is triggering enormous growth. For the last three years, we have been growing at 30 per cent. And this growth for us is coming from new verticals. It is important to understand that growth now is not restricted to metros alone. In fact, the upcountry provides greener pasture as it is adopting latest technology. Now every vendor is aiming at the upcountry market and the big thing is retail."

“Confed IT is an IT association which covers more than 20 districts of Tamil Nadu. We are very proud to be the platinum sponsor for the event. This event gave us access to all the resellers in Tamil Nadu on a single platform. Cisco has been very active in the SMB market and now we have also changed the entire product line to suit this market. Cisco has developed completely new products for SMBs."
