Colombo, Sri Lanka: India-born deep-tech company FaceOff Technologies Pvt. Ltd. has expanded its regional footprint into Colombo through an exclusive partnership with KBSL Information Technologies Ltd. The collaboration will address the growing challenges of deepfakes, synthetic identities, impersonation, SIM-swap fraud and AI-driven financial crime, while placing a strong focus on helping enterprises implement Sri Lanka’s Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and strengthen data privacy governance.
The two companies have signed an NDA, Confidentiality Agreement and Exclusive Partnership Agreement, appointing KBSL as FaceOff’s exclusive partner to market, implement and support its digital trust and data privacy solutions across Sri Lanka, Maldives and Cambodia.

The partnership comes as telecom operators, banks, governments and enterprises face a new generation of fraud where attackers can impersonate genuine customers using synthetic faces, cloned voices, manipulated videos and compromised identities. Telecom operators are particularly exposed to SIM-swap and impersonation attacks, while financial institutions must defend digital onboarding, authentication, payments and customer interactions against increasingly sophisticated synthetic fraud.
Under the agreement, FaceOff will provide its products and technologies to KBSL on a white-label basis, with KBSL having exclusive rights to market, sell, implement and support the solutions within the agreed territories. A major focus will be FaceOff Synthetic Media Guard, which uses multimodal AI to detect deepfakes, face-swaps, voice cloning and manipulated media by combining facial analysis, liveness detection, audio intelligence and behavioural signals to generate an explainable Trust Score.

The announcement follows Sri Lanka AI Week 2026 – “AI Amplified,” which brought together policymakers, government agencies, telecommunications leaders, technology companies, international experts and startups. With Sri Lanka targeting the growth of its digital economy, the emergence of AI also makes digital trust, identity protection, privacy and fraud prevention increasingly important foundations for secure digital transformation.
Mr. Vasee Nesiah, CEO, KBSL Information Technologies Ltd., said: “We will establish a Centre of Excellence at KBSL to build local expertise, demonstrate advanced digital trust solutions and accelerate customer adoption. Together with FaceOff, we aim to initiate multiple POCs this year and build scalable capabilities across our target markets.”

For over 38 years, KBSL has delivered enterprise technology solutions in Sri Lanka and overseas as a systems integrator, bringing together best-of-breed technologies. The FaceOff partnership complements KBSL’s work in AI and digital trust, enabling it to offer deepfake detection, synthetic identity fraud prevention, behavioural intelligence and data privacy solutions, with the immediate objective of initiating customer proof-of-concepts before the end of 2026.
Dr. Deepak Kumar Sahu, Founder & CEO, FaceOff Technologies Pvt. Ltd., said: “Our partnership with KBSL marks an important step in taking India-developed digital trust technology to international markets. Together, we will help governments, telecom operators, banks and enterprises detect synthetic identities, strengthen privacy and establish continuous trust across increasingly AI-driven digital ecosystems.”

FaceOff Technologies is building a Digital Trust Layer for the AI era through its Adaptive Cognitive Engine (ACE), combining deepfake and cloned-voice detection, liveness verification and behavioural intelligence. Its FaceOff Privacy platform supports enterprise privacy governance and compliance. Through the Colombo partnership, FaceOff and KBSL aim to create a regional hub for AI-powered fraud prevention, identity assurance and digital trust across Sri Lanka and select international markets.
