With the latest update, organizations can shift from personal Gmail accounts to managed corporate credentials, enabling IT teams to enforce enterprise-grade security protocols like MFA, SSO, and role-based access, while simplifying account recovery and improving administrative control
Google has announced a significant update for Android Enterprise customers, introducing support for full integration into managed Google domains. The new update aims to enhance enterprise security while simplifying IT administration for organizations managing Android devices at scale.
With the new rollout, companies can now transition from using personal Gmail accounts to corporate-managed credentials, giving IT administrators greater oversight and control. This change allows organizations to implement enterprise-grade security protocols such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), security keys, single sign-on (SSO), and role-based access control.
The update also addresses credential recovery, making it easier for users to regain access to work accounts without relying on personal email accounts—eliminating a common friction point in enterprise IT support.
Global organizations stand to benefit from the ability to use multiple Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) providers across regions, catering to varied infrastructure needs without compromising compliance or security. The flexibility is expected to support distributed teams more effectively, especially in multi-region enterprises.
Deeper integration across Google ecosystem
Additionally, the new capabilities bring tighter integration with Google’s ecosystem of tools, including Google Workspace, Chrome, and the AI-powered Google Gemini. IT teams can now manage these services through the unified Google Admin console, improving operational efficiency and offering better visibility across digital workflows.
The update comes as part of Google’s broader push to expand its enterprise offerings. Recently, the company introduced enhancements across several platforms, including the launch of Video Overviews for NotebookLM, a redesigned Studio panel, and an experimental no-code AI app builder called Opal. Google also unveiled a new AI-powered “Try-On” feature for shopping experiences in Search and Images.
The Android Enterprise update marks a key step in Google’s effort to modernize enterprise mobility and deliver more secure, manageable, and flexible solutions for today’s hybrid workplaces.See What’s Next in Tech With the Fast Forward Newsletter
