IT Managers focusing Video Conferencing Infrastructure in 2013: LifeSize

LifeSiz e has announced a growing trend they see in the market pertaining to the need of adding capacity of the existing video conferencing infrastructure while expanding the use of desktop video conferencing in 2013.

Video conferencing got a boost during the global recession in 2008, as companies looked for ways to improve employee productivity while reducing expenses, such as travel costs. Over the last few years, with such trends as cloud computing, mobility and bring your own device (BYOD) taking hold, companies have turned to software-based video conferencing to enable users to participate in meetings from wherever they are and on nearly any mobile device, such as smartphones and tablets.

In contrast to the dedicated hardware approach to deploying video conferencing, 74 percent of IT hardware decision makers are prioritizing server virtualization as their standard server deployment model in their areas because of the manageability, flexibility and cost benefits of creating a shared IT infrastructure.

Deepak Braganza, Country Manager for LifeSize in India and South Asia said, “The video conferencing market is entering an evolutionary phase worldwide. As mobility, virtualization and cloud technologies take over, they are fundamentally changing how video communication works all across the globe. With India undergoing a similar transition, LifeSize is aiming to transform the video communication experience with the introduction of “smart video” and LifeSize Icon Series in the country”.
