The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has officially unveiled the logo and flagship initiatives for the upcoming India-AI Impact Summit 2026, a landmark event that will establish India as a global hub for responsible and inclusive artificial intelligence. Scheduled for February 19–20, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, this will be the first time a Global South nation hosts such a prestigious AI summit.
The newly revealed logo draws inspiration from the Ashoka Chakra, symbolizing ethical governance, justice, and India’s constitutional values. Neural network flares radiating from the chakra represent the transformative power of AI in bridging linguistic, industrial, and geographical divides, ensuring inclusive digital progress.

Union IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced that India has significantly surpassed its target of 10,000 GPUs, now achieving 38,000 GPUs to strengthen AI research and innovation. Under the IndiaAI Mission, 570 AI Data Labs will be established across the country, strategically located to democratize technology access and empower students, researchers, and professionals in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities. The first 30 labs have already been launched, including three state-of-the-art facilities in partnership with Intel at Mokokchung, Mhow, and Mohali.
The IndiaAI Fellowship Program has been expanded to support 13,500 scholars, including 8,000 undergraduates, 5,000 postgraduates, and 500 PhD researchers across engineering, medicine, law, commerce, and liberal arts. A dedicated digital fellowship portal will streamline applications, mentorship tracking, and research progress monitoring.
One of the biggest highlights of the summit will be the launch of eight foundational AI model initiatives under the IndiaAI Foundation Models program. Selected from over 500 proposals, these projects include:
● AI Avatars optimized for Indian languages
● A multilingual AI model consortium led by IIT Bombay
● India’s first large reasoning model for structured problem-solving by Fractal Analytics
● Domain-specific AI models in healthcare, agriculture, governance, scientific research, material sciences, and neurology
These innovations aim to make India a leader in multilingual AI, scientific discovery, and applied research. The two-day India-AI Impact Summit 2026 will bring together world leaders, policymakers, researchers, AI startups, and industry experts. Key attractions include:
● AI Pitch Fest (UDAAN) to showcase startups from Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities
● Global innovation challenges for youth and women entrepreneurs
● An AI Research Symposium and AI Expo with 300+ exhibitors from India and 30+ countries
With its focus on inclusive development, sustainability, and equitable growth, the India-AI Impact Summit 2026 will demonstrate how artificial intelligence can drive global collaboration while serving humanity.
