Novell releases Add-ons to its Mobility Portfolio

Novell has released the additions ZENworks Application Virtualization (ZAV) 10 and ZENworks Mobile Management (ZMM) 2.7 for its mobility portfolio. Both the additions will further equip organizations to manage growing enterprise application needs, as well as manage employees’ needs when working from multiple devices.

These latest add-ons will address mobility trends such as Bring Your Own Device (BYOD), as well as traditional enterprise pain points like application management.

Rick Carlson, Director – Product Management, Novell, said, “IT departments need to effectively manage users and applications – not just devices. No two users are alike, and Novell’s mobility solutions address those differences with flexible management solutions that give users secure access to the applications they need from the device they want.”

ZAV 10 allows users to get virtual versions of their Windows applications and IT departments to ensure that users are authorized to access the appropriate applications and can track consumption of virtualized applications to help organizations ensure they optimize their acquisition of software licences.

ZMM 2.7 introduces the ability to assign policies to entire Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) groups simultaneously.

Novell ZENworks Application Virtualization 10 and ZENworks Mobile Management 2.7 are both currently available.
