Pininfarina selects Dassault’s CATIA app to design Concept Car

In order to design and manufacture a new concept car, 3DEXPERIENCE CATIA application software of Dassault Systèmes has been selected by Italian Design house Pininfarina. This car will be designed in honour of its Chairman, Sergio Pininfarina.

Using the virtual clay modelling and 3D sketching features of the CATIA application, the designers of Pininfarina were able to converge on the shape and configuration of the Segio Concep car. The resulting 3D virtual model was generated using ICEM Surf. Designers were also able to manage different variations of their concept car and experience each design alternative in 3D using CATIA Live Rendering application capability.
