The SonicWALL India Partner Summit 2017 was a premier partner event that took place from Aug 10th – 12th in the beautiful island of Phuket, Thailand. The event, which was attended by more than 50 partners from all over India facilitated personalized interactions and networking opportunities between the valued partners and SonicWALL Executives.
The main agenda of the event was to celebrate the success of SonicWALL business in India. It was at this event that the partners who had made outstanding contributions were recognized and the gala awards dinner took place.
The past year has been extremely encouraging for SonicWALL India, having achieved lots of milestones and growing tremendously on all fronts. The SecureFirst partner program that was initially launched in US at the start of the year, and then in India last quarter was one of the many milestones from SonicWALL. Globally 16,000+ partners have registered for the program to date, out of which 4,300+ have been new partners.
The second is the launch of SonicWALL University, a sophisticated online education platform designed for SecureFirst Partners in order to help them keep abreast of cyber security threats and solutions.
Since the separation from Dell last year, SonicWALL has reclaimed its independence and strength as a key leader in network security, and partners are seeing the benefits from this, including the renewed focus, innovation and investment in the channel.

“The India market is important for SonicWALL for many reasons. It is a major economic power and it continues to innovate around information technology and for all this security is incredibly important. India is one of the fastest growing markets for SonicWALL globally and Asia Pacific Japan region. We do not see it slowing down anytime in near future and it will continue to grow.
India is an important market for us in terms of business, for instance we have got a very strong support center and R&D unit in Bengaluru; so outside of US, India is one of the few strategic markets for us. We have more than hundreds of people working in India, in the front & back-end offices and in the sales & marketing operations.
There is a massive innovation coming out of SonicWALL. There are a couple of key areas – one is advanced threats through Firewall and the services that we can attach; so we have something called triple sandbox capability which is really very effective against advanced threats. We are adding some more capabilities to it like e-mail because we know that phishing is still very rampant that continues to threaten victims. We also have massive security capabilities for the wireless environment and for secure mobile access which is the VPN capability."

“We launched SecureFirst in May in India and we’ve seen an amazing uptake, with 400+ partners already registered. SonicWALL being a 100% channel company, we are recognizing our partners from the channel community and have created tiers including Platinum, Gold and Silver. With this they have privileged access to different discounting models in which we can guide them with their business requirements. Within this same framework there is SonicWALL University which is basically designed to enable the channel partners. Here they get access to all the content they need to break the resource gap.
We are seeing new partner registrations coming in every day, so this demonstrates how well the program is being received and a huge interest in SonicWALL solutions. We have 3 national distributors – Redington, Texonic and Inflow Technologies. We are definitely working towards channel development and their enablement, which is also our global roadmap and the baseline of our business. If our channel is growing, we will grow and the product expansion is also part of that. We are equally addressing the threat landscape too, because if the bad guys are growing, we also have to enhance our products. So all these elements are in sync with each other and hence growing together.”
