ESPcoin’s parent company, Digital S&T, has entered into an agreement with CircleBlue from Croatia to work together to integrate cryptocurrency on their Electronic Cash Register (ECR) network.
E$P will be used as a form of currency and loyalty reward points. The agreement covering East African Countries is the first step of realizing the goal of making digital payments available to all.
Using E$P in a merchant ecosystem allows anyone with a digital wallet on a smartphone to take advantage of digital payments for online services or real products. Each merchant has the ability to act as an exchange as well to further increase their revenue through shared fees.
Customers using E$P on ECR capable networks will be empowered to access online services, transfer funds anywhere in the world and receive payments in cryptocurrency. This truly is a real enabler for so many that do not have access to banking.
The first crypto-enabled ECR networks for East Africa will be launched in the first half of 2022.
