Around 1,000 jobs have been axed in TCS in the country due to non-performance. There are manyexperienced software engineers even with an experience of 12 to 15 years who have been suddenly labeled as under performers. Lamenting the phrase underperformer, the sacked techies are facing a rough phase with their lost credentials and face-value. The sacked employees came out in the open on Saturday and participated in the protest organized by IT/ITeS Employees Centre (ITEC — an employee welfare forum) in front of Town Hall in Bangaluru.

The employees were surprised why the company tolerated them for so many years if they were not performing. They are also lamenting that other companies that offer them jobs will take advantage of their situation and offer them peanuts.
The HR personnel of TCS are asking the employees to either sign the resignation letter or give a termination order. But the timing is such that everyone coming out of TCS is now getting branded as a non-performer which is unethical.
ITEC is planning to move court with the TCS layoff issue and also take up the matter with the state government.
