TCS partners with Anthropic to accelerate enterprise AI adoption across global industries
The strategic alliance will combine TCS’ industry expertise and implementation capabilities with Anthropic’s Claude AI models, targeting large-scale enterprise deployments, workforce upskilling, and AI-driven transformation across regulated and complex business environments worldwide.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has entered into a global strategic partnership with Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind the Claude family of large language models, in a move aimed at helping enterprises scale AI adoption and move beyond pilot-stage deployments.
As part of the collaboration, TCS will establish a dedicated business unit focused on developing industry-specific AI solutions, strengthening enterprise AI capabilities, and enabling customers to leverage Anthropic’s Claude models across a range of business functions. The company will also gain early access to Claude models to accelerate innovation and create tailored offerings for clients.
The partnership comes at a time when many organizations, particularly in heavily regulated industries, are struggling to transition AI projects from experimentation to production. Challenges related to governance, compliance, accuracy, and oversight have often slowed adoption despite growing interest in generative AI technologies.
Focus on regulated industries and enterprise-scale deployment
Under the agreement, TCS will become a Global Premier Partner in the Claude Partner Network, enabling it to bring Anthropic’s AI capabilities to enterprises seeking secure, resilient, and governance-focused AI implementations.
The two companies plan to jointly develop AI-led solutions for sectors including financial services, healthcare, life sciences, telecommunications, aviation, public services, and medical technology. The collaboration will focus on domain-specific workflows, modernization initiatives, customer experience transformation, and operational efficiency improvements.
TCS said it will provide enterprise-wide access to Claude for 50,000 associates across business functions such as engineering, finance, legal, marketing, and sales. The company expects the internal deployment to help enhance productivity while providing practical insights that can be applied to customer engagements.
Workforce development and product innovation
Beyond enterprise services, the partnership will extend to several TCS platforms and business units. In the United Kingdom, Diligenta, TCS’ regulated life and pensions business, plans to leverage Claude to improve customer experiences through large-scale process transformation initiatives.
Meanwhile, TCS’ banking, financial services, and insurance product teams will use Claude Code to support software engineering and IT operations. The company also intends to contribute domain-specific skills and reusable plugins to the Claude ecosystem, including capabilities related to lending advisory and claims adjudication.
TCS iON, which conducts more than 75 million assessments annually across India, will incorporate learning and certification programs focused on Claude models to help build AI-ready talent and strengthen workforce preparedness for emerging technologies.
Commenting on the partnership, K Krithivasan, CEO and MD, TCS, said, “Enterprise AI value comes from understanding business context, orchestrating complex systems, and applying deep AI engineering talent. By combining Claude with our industry expertise, engineering rigor, and large-scale transformation capabilities, we will help customers move faster to production, especially in industries where trust, resilience, and regulatory discipline are critical. This partnership reflects TCS’ broader strategy to help clients become perpetually adaptive enterprises by turning frontier AI into transformation at enterprise scale.”
Dario Amodei, Co-founder and CEO, Anthropic, said, “We built Claude to be safe, trusted, and helpful, particularly in contexts where accuracy matters most. This partnership deepens our commitment to India, our second-largest market, with TCS bringing Claude to enterprises and professionals across the region and globally, including 50,000 of its employees.”
N Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Sons, said, “This partnership reflects our shared conviction that AI will be foundational and transformative for enterprises worldwide. By combining Anthropic's capabilities with Tata Group’s scale, trusted relationships, and nation-building commitment, we will accelerate enterprise reinvention and equip India’s youth with the skills to lead in the AI era.”
