Building India@2047 Today

On India’s 80th Independence Day, the message “Honoring Freedom, Inspiring the Future” carries special significance. The India of 2047 will be determined by the investments, innovations and opportunities created today.

Economic strength will remain fundamental. India’s ambition to become a developed nation will depend on expanding manufacturing, infrastructure, entrepreneurship and globally competitive industries while creating productive employment.

Technology will be a major accelerator. AI, semiconductors, quantum technologies, Digital Public Infrastructure, advanced connectivity and space innovation are increasingly central to India’s strategy for becoming a technology leader rather than merely a technology consumer. 

Sustainability must advance alongside growth. Clean energy, electrification, green technologies and climate-resilient infrastructure will be critical as India simultaneously pursues Viksit Bharat and its long-term net-zero ambitions. 

Ultimately, India@2047 will be powered by its people. Education, healthcare, AI-ready skills, entrepreneurship and opportunities for young Indians will determine whether the demographic dividend becomes lasting economic strength. The freedom we celebrate today must inspire the capability, innovation and inclusion that define tomorrow.
