Apple is reportedly on track to launch its much-anticipated foldable iPhone by late 2026, signaling a major shift in the company’s smartphone strategy. Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed that Apple has already placed orders for 7 to 8 million foldable OLED panels from Samsung Display, underscoring its commitment to entering the foldable phone segment.

The upcoming Apple foldable phone is expected to feature a flexible display, aligning with trends set by rivals like Samsung, Huawei, and Google. While Apple has kept the project tightly under wraps, the supply chain is rapidly taking shape. Foxconn, Apple’s primary manufacturing partner, is reportedly preparing to begin pre-production work by Q3 2025, with mass production slated for the second half of 2026.

Key innovations are in the works, including a specialized liquidmetal hinge designed to ensure durability and a seamless folding experience.
