Dell Technologies has introduced key upgrades to its PowerProtect portfolio, integrating advanced automation, broader workload protection, and simplified management to help organizations strengthen cyber resilience, accelerate recovery, and safeguard data across hybrid, multi-cloud, and edge environments
As cyber threats continue to evolve, organizations are prioritizing resilience as a key business imperative. Dell Technologies today announced significant enhancements across its PowerProtect portfolio, delivering faster, smarter, and more efficient cyber resilience for businesses operating in hybrid and edge environments.
The PowerProtect portfolio continues to lead the market, with PowerProtect Data Manager ranking #1 in total cost of ownership and performance at scale. Similarly, PowerProtect Data Domain holds the top position in cost efficiency, security, and support — underscoring Dell’s focus on providing tangible business value and a strong return on investment (ROI).
The latest upgrades integrate advanced automation, extended workload protection, and simplified management, enabling enterprises to secure, detect, and recover from cyberattacks with greater speed and confidence.
Boosting edge and cloud protection through integrated innovations
Among the key highlights, PowerProtect Data Manager now expands its resilience capabilities across edge and hybrid environments. The integration with Dell NativeEdge introduces the industry’s first co-engineered cyber resilience solution for edge computing, offering image-level backup and recovery for virtual machines. Additionally, native integration with Nutanix AHV through Prism Central simplifies multi-hypervisor protection, ensuring consistent resilience across diverse IT environments.
Other advancements include an Anomaly Detection Review Analysis page that streamlines ransomware investigations and incident response, along with the new PowerProtect Data Manager Appliance, which reduces administrative overhead by up to 50% through unified protection and management.
Meanwhile, PowerProtect Backup Services extends cloud-native flexibility with agentless SaaS backup for Microsoft Azure, offering operational simplicity and greater adaptability for hybrid workloads. A new add-on feature enhances ransomware protection for government and hybrid cloud environments, reinforcing Dell’s commitment to high-security operations.
Scaling cyber resilience and accelerating secure recovery
The PowerProtect Data Domain Operating System now introduces Secure Snapshot for Virtual Tape Libraries (VTL) to ensure immutability against cyber threats and human error, without impacting performance. Data Domain Virtual Edition capacity has also been expanded to 384TB on Azure, with added AWS M7i instance support, enabling larger backup consolidation and optimized compute costs.
Further, the PowerProtect Cyber Recovery and CyberSense solutions enhance data security by supporting secure vaulting and restoration of HYCU-created backups, ensuring recoverability across diverse environments. The update also allows centralized management of multiple Cyber Recovery servers via a single CyberSense instance.
“In today’s digital economy, cyber resilience is not just about defense, but enabling continuity, trust, and growth,” said Ripu Bajwa, Director, Sales – Software, Dell Technologies India. “With the latest advancements in our PowerProtect portfolio, we are empowering organizations to simplify data protection, strengthen their security posture, and recover with speed and confidence – wherever their data resides, from core to edge to cloud.”
With these advancements, Dell Technologies is redefining what it means to be cyber-resilient in a hybrid world. By delivering smarter, faster, and more efficient data protection, Dell empowers enterprises to safeguard their most valuable asset – their data – while driving innovation, agility, and business continuity with confidence.
