EXL Acquires Aimpoint Digital to Scale Enterprise AI

EXL (NASDAQ: EXLS), the global data and AI company, has acquired Aimpoint Digital, a data and AI consulting and platform engineering firm. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Aimpoint Digital builds enterprise data and AI platforms and has deep expertise in leading partners such as Anthropic, Databricks and Snowflake. The deal strengthens EXL’s ability to support clients across the full AI lifecycle and deepens its ties with these technology partners.

The acquisition targets a common problem: enterprises are investing heavily in AI, but many struggle to move projects from pilot to production. Aimpoint Digital is known for moving client workloads onto leading platforms quickly. EXL plans to extend that strength across more workflows and business functions.

“Clients require a partner who can take them from AI ambition to impact at enterprise scale,” said Rohit Kapoor, chairman and CEO of EXL. “Aimpoint Digital’s forward-deployed strategists and engineers bring the hands-on expertise to turn AI strategy into production reality on the platforms our clients trust most.”

Ben Yopp, CEO and co-founder of Aimpoint Digital, said joining EXL would let the team do more breakthrough work at a much larger scale. “We bring deep AI strategy and engineering talent, and EXL brings industry expertise, global reach and the ability to run AI in operations,” he said.

The combined business will offer clients one accountable partner from the first strategy discussion through architecture, engineering, deployment and managed operations. This is meant to reduce handoffs and speed up measurable results.

The deal adds about 250 AI engineers, platform architects, analytics consultants, decision scientists and AI strategists to EXL. Demand for this kind of talent outpaces supply, and the new team expands EXL’s forward-deployed capacity for complex, multi-year transformations.

The acquisition follows EXL’s recent purchase of iMerit, a specialist in AI model training, evaluation and reinforcement learning. Together, the two deals extend EXL’s capabilities across strategy, engineering, deployment and managed AI operations.

Founded in 1999 and headquartered in New York, EXL has more than 74,000 employees across six continents. It serves clients in insurance, healthcare, banking and capital markets, retail, communications and media, and energy and infrastructure.
