FAIITA, the National Federation of IT Associations representing the IT trade fraternity involved in Retail, Distribution, Services & Solutions jointly with UPCDWA, a premier association of Computer/IT hardware & software dealers of Uttar Pradesh hosted a Retail Conclave at The Regnant, Lucknow on 6th and 7th April. The event aimed to assess the future of brand retailing, identify various challenges, and explore various ways and means to overcome them.
The conclave was inaugurated by all India FAITTA members along with FAIITA President, Devesh Rastogi. 100+ retailers from across India and all principal IT OEMs participated in the event. Top brands such as Lenovo, Asus, HP, Acer, Dell, Canon, and AMD participated in the event. The program included brand presentations, product overviews, FAIITA's expectations from brands, and direct interaction with retail partners.
Speaking on the occasion, FAIITA President, Devesh Rastogi said, "The main purpose of this event is to assess the future of brand retailing in future times, to identify various challenges and various ways and means to challenge them. In the business of retail, every brand should take care that margin should be more, involvement with retail should be more, keeping lower on the store target. Competition is there, so the retail should be in sync with the online community and provide better service."
Navin Gupta, General Secretary of FAIITA, commented, "We are very happy to see so many retailers and dealers to have visited this conclave and making it a great event."
Pankaj Agarwal, President, UPCDWA, welcoming everyone to the event, said, "We have a helping desk, and we expect that this event will benefit you."
The Retail Conclave organized by FAIITA & UPCDWA provided an excellent platform for retailers, distributors, manufacturers, and industry experts to come together, share ideas, and explore ways to overcome the challenges facing the retail industry. The event's success and the participation of top IT brands indicate the significance of such initiatives for the industry's growth and development.
Each brand was given a 2-hour slot to showcase their products, technology, and future product launches. After their presentation, two moderators from FAIITA asked questions collected nationally from retailers about the problems they face with certain brand policies, particularly on DOA/Demo units, delay in claim settlement, and fixed costs of brand stores. The moderators also suggested how to improve for better working with retailers in the future.
