Additionally, Instagram will soon let users rearrange posts on their profile grid, offering greater control over how their feed looks.
Instagram is rolling out a suite of new features aimed at deepening personalization, enhancing creativity, and supporting content creators across its platform. Among the highlights is a real-time Spotify music sharing feature within Instagram Notes, allowing users to display what they're currently listening to — including the song title and artist — as it plays. This builds on the app’s existing collaboration with Spotify, which began with the "Add to Spotify" button, and now offers a more dynamic way to share moods and spark conversations.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri also revealed that the platform is exploring options for “quiet” posting — allowing users to share content on their profiles without alerting followers in the feed, helping reduce the pressure of constant public visibility.

Another major update is the long-awaited profile grid customization feature. Users can now reorder posts on their grid without needing to delete or archive older content. This added control allows both casual users and creators to curate their profiles more intentionally — whether for aesthetic coherence, brand storytelling, or personal expression.
These features are part of Instagram's broader effort to encourage users to “take creative chances” as the platform celebrates its 15th anniversary. To support this mission, Instagram is expanding tools and programs for creators:
● Trial Reels, now open to all users, lets creators test short videos with non-followers first — a strategy that has shown to increase engagement and reach.
● The Edits app, Instagram’s AI-powered mobile video editing tool, introduces new features like “restyle,” which allows for fast visual transformations of content.
● Drafts, a funding and mentorship initiative, will back emerging creators like Tyrell Hampton, Young Emperors, and Sailorr with financial support and collaboration opportunities.
● A new Stories and Reels font, inspired by singer Rosalía’s handwriting, adds further personalization to visual content.
These updates reinforce Instagram’s evolution into a multi-layered creative platform, blending music, AI, and design tools to empower users in new and expressive ways.
