BlackNGreen teams up with Airtel over Mobile VAS

VAS service provider, BlackNGreen has collaborated with Airtel Africa to strengthen their base in the region. With new signups being put in place, BNG will set foot in Europe, Asia-Pacific and Latin America shortly with a portfolio of innovative VAS products and mobile applications. BNG will increase the client base to 100 operators across multiple geographies by the end of 2014.

In this partnership with Airtel Africa that has about 65 million subscribers, BNG is looking at a conversion rate of at least 5%–8% for its services in a 12 months’ time frame.

Rahul Gupta, Director, BlackNGreen, said, “With Airtel Africa, we will further strengthen our presence in the region. The group level deal with Airtel Africa is expected to yield top-line revenue of around US$20 million. Partnerships like these will fuel our expansion plans across geographies.”

He further added, “We are looking at doubling our team size in the next eight months and will add offices across countries to support easy project implementation, deployments and logistics.  We will have 4 hubs across Kenya, South Africa, Nigeria and Algeria to manage African operations.”

Religious services and other products from the BlackNGreen portfolio would also be introduced at a later stage as the partnership matures.
