By combining Gemini AI with the Shopping Graph (which now includes over 50 billion listings), users get real-time insights on reviews, prices, availability, and more.
Google has launched a transformative shopping experience powered by AI, offering users a seamless journey from inspiration to purchase. Dubbed AI Mode, this feature blends Gemini AI with Google’s expansive Shopping Graph, comprising over 50 billion listings. Shoppers can now receive tailored product suggestions, updated hourly with reviews, prices, availability, and color options from global and local retailers.
One standout feature is the virtual try-on tool, which now allows users to upload a full-length photo and see how clothes look on them personally. Leveraging a custom image generation model, the tool considers material behavior and body nuances, delivering a realistic visual of outfits. This feature is currently available through Search Labs in the U.S. for items like shirts, skirts, dresses, and pants.
AI Mode also introduces agentic checkout, a smart buying feature that tracks prices and auto-completes purchases when products hit a user-defined budget. Simply tap “track price,” set your preferences, and let Google handle the checkout securely through Google Pay.
For example, if you're looking for a travel bag suitable for a rainy trip to Portland, AI Mode intelligently analyzes your need and suggests waterproof options with practical features. The dynamic shopping panel updates in real time, helping users explore options effortlessly while discovering new brands.
These features aim to redefine online shopping with AI-powered personalization, price tracking, and virtual dressing rooms, rolling out gradually across the U.S. in the coming months. It’s been incredible to see how AI is taking us into a new phase of shopping in Search, where you can truly ask — and shop for — anything.
