The Government has announced to start an e-Pathshala programme to create quality content across disciplines at the postgraduate level with UGC asking universities throughout the country to contribute to the exercise.
The initiative has been approved by the HRD Ministry. This programme is proposed to develop e-content in 77 subjects across disciplines and the material will be made available to both teachers and students in the form of open online courses.
Ved Prakash, UGC Chairman, said, "It hardly needs to mention that such a gigantic task could be accomplished only through a participatory exercise."
The subjects on which contents are proposed to be developed range from adult education and women studies, architecture and bio-informatics to nanoscience and nanotechnology, geology and genetics.
